The steps listed below follow the chain of custody procedure to ensure your test results are legally defensible.

  • Present proper identification when you arrive for your appointment. The DNA collector will verify your identity and make a copy of your ID.
  • Provide a thumbprint.
  • After you are properly identified, sign a form giving your consent for the sample collection. If you are the legal custodian of a minor who will be tested, please sign on behalf of the child.
  • The collector will use simple buccal (cheek) swabs to gather your tissue samples. Several cotton-tipped applicators are brushed against the inside of your cheek walls to gather loose cells. This method of DNA testing is painless and produces results that are as accurate as a blood sample. The entire process usually takes 15-30 minutes, depending upon the number of parties in your group.
  • After gathering the samples, the collector will seal the envelope and ship it to the lab for testing.
  • Wait for your DNA test results to arrive. In most cases, you will receive them in 3-5 days.

Other background screening services don’t provide every county and every jurisdiction. Meanwhile, Pre-Check’s electronic fingerprinting service is more robust. It provides all felony histories for all 88 Ohio counties plus all municipal jurisdictional misdemeanors for all 88 counties. That means over 1,200 municipal courts in the state of Ohio are accessed for information about your applicant.

Fingerprints are scanned at our location and sent directly to the BCI and FBI. Negative results are provided in easy-to-understand English within 2-3 days from the scan date. The fast turnaround enables applicants with no criminal history to start working right away.

  • No ink or mess will be on their fingers or your desk.
  • No time will be wasted. Just send the applicant to the site and receive negative results in 2-3 days.
  • No delays caused by unreadable cards will occur.

Workplace Flu

Many of us don’t realize how big an impact flu has on our daily lives. Every year, 1.5 million days of work are missed due to the flu. Workplaces across the country lose productivity as employees become ill with influenza. It’s very likely you’ve been one of them.

Calling in sick to work can have major repercussions on the entire office. Not only will you have a lot of work to make up when you return, but also, those who remain during your absence must put aside some of their own duties to handle yours.

Ten to twelve percent of sick days are caused by the flu, so employers are eager to provide flu vaccines to their employees. If sick days could be cut by a decent percentage, workplaces all around would notice a definite surge in productivity.

Many people try to soldier on and come into work even they come down with the flu. If the illness is mild enough, this might seem reasonable. However, you are probably still contagious, and your working ability is compromised. In turn, your productivity and overall capabilities are lessened.

You’ll not only be spreading the flu to your co-workers, but your output will be much less than it normally would be. All in all, coming in to work while ill is not a smart move. It’s easy to see why the flu spreads from employee to employee as the flu travels at lightning-fast speeds.

By encouraging employees to receive the flu vaccine, employers can dramatically reduce the number of sick days that they usually incur. In turn, fellow employees won’t be burdened with sick employees’ work as frequently, and productivity will remain at an even keel.

Fewer employees will show up to work while under the weather, too, which means that more things will get accomplished in a reasonable and effective manner. All around, flu vaccinations are an excellent way to improve the workplace.

Studies have shown that when an employee receives the flu vaccine, he or she is much less likely to call in sick or have other absences during the year. Employees are also more likely to receive their flu vaccine if it is conveniently offered to them while at work.

EXPRESSWORKS offers flu vaccines equivalent to the cost of most insurance co-payments but saves your employees the time of an office visit. Call EXPRESSWORKS today at (330) 645-0411 to coordinate your flu vaccine program or reserve your flu vaccines by completing the below reservation form.
